PSP 1001 with 3.52 m33 need update instruction

I have an old psp 1001 with the cfw 3.52 M33. I currently purchased a new game, it states i must upgrade to current firmware to play. I have looked all over and have failed to find a detailed decription of how to go about this upgrade. It will not allow me to make any changes to firmware. Have tried the system update on psp, get DADADADADA error code, tried the down grade option on psp, same result.

I will first say, i'm not the most fluent at computer lingo (just learned what cfw&ofw are), but i'm also not a moron. I can follow directions to a TEE, if given properly. Dont count me out. LOL. I just didnt want to go dropping files and get bricked, would rather hear it from an "expert".

I have been lead to believe there is a certain order of upgrades i will have to perform to get to the most up to date, have no clue what order or if this is even necessary. I have downloaded all firmwares for all psp products so as to choose the proper ones for my situation, NEED DETAILED INSTRUCTION FOR INSTALLING THESE UPDATES.

OK, have you downloaded the newest CFW and tried installing it OVER the existing one? The CFW I would recomend is 6.60ME 1.8, that is the LATEST. Another good one is the 6.60PRO B-10. I had it on a 1000 model and it ran very well. If you keep having problems I will keep helping just post.

The version i have is 6.39. Where would I get the 6.60 version? Also, not sure how to install over existing one. I get the upodate onto the memory stick, then try to run it on psp and after starting boot the psp just shuts down/powers off. No changes are made, can turn psp back on without problems. Just will not seem to remove, change, or overwrite the current 3.52 ME33 cfw.

i thought you have 3.52 m33? if you still do so, i recommend you to grab hellcat's here FaustNero on the utility zone. extract it and place 'recovery' folder in ms0:/PSP/GAME , select target cfw to 5.00 and run. then update via system update to latest.

if you're already on 6.39 and want to get to 6.60, just update via system update on the psp's menu. you can grab the cfw on the same blog site.

yes. Sorry for confusion. PSP has 3.52 ME33. Meant I have downloaded 6.39 to install, but any time i try to install via system update, i get error codeADADADADA, i looked up and it says that code is generic for a cfw trying to update with ofw, which it says cant be done.

Got the hellcats. Opened as you said. Ran target cfw 5.00, but gives me " error opening 500.pbp " not sure what the problem is. Any suggestions?
