Hello,
I haven't updated my PSP in a while. I gave it to someone and they updated it for me. The last time I updated was some 3.xx version which I can't remember. Anyways.
The sticker on the bottom of my psp says PSP2004 along with several numbers before it. I suppose it's part of the PSP 2000 series.
The current PSP System Software I have is 6.20 PRO-B6.
My friend told me there are newer versions available. Can someone please instruct me which versions to install step by step? Thank you very much for the help.

My motherboard is TA-085 v1 (from your download). I have the Slim (2000) with 02g Module. Could you also tell me where to download the newer custom firmwares from and how to install them? Much appreciated sir. I'm trying to do this for my little brother.

Good news, update to 6.60 OFW and then use this:6.60ME-1.8 (OFW Version) - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP Forum, Hack PSP, PSV Hacks, PS Vita Hack, PSVita

Ok so if I understand it correctly, I am supposed to download 6.60 OFW first and then 6.60ME-1.8 from the link you provided? Would you also be able to provide a link of where to download the 6.60 OFW? Thank you.
Ok, I downloaded the 6.60 OFW from the link you provided. I placed the file in the PSP->Game->UPDATE. I ran it, but I'm getting an error.
"The update cannot be started. The data is corrupted. (SGT90000001)
Should I download the OFW from the official SONY website?
Or just do it wirelessly. Thats odd that the link is corrupted???....is there an EBOOT inside the UPDATE folder?

Yes I placed the EBOOT in PSP -> GAME -> UPDATE
Dont know?, grab it from Sony's website or update wirelessly
EDIT; Wait, your on 6.20 PRO???....do you know if it has the perm patch applied?

Try a different link first to update to 6.60. Let me know what happens

I used your link and it didn't work. I used the officical Sony patch from their website (6.60) and it didnt work. I'm trying to do wirelessly now but the servers busy right now. What do I do if it's a perm patch. I asked my brother and he says it may be a perm patch. What would one do in this case.
Is there a PRO updater folder on you memory stick?
