So basically I've got my hands on a psp fat(Don't have exact info on me, know the date code is 5D..can get further info if needed), and I've been reading guides about various firmware for some time, and I've come back a bit confused on how to proceed. I have a psp right now with basically nothing on it except 6.60 OFW, and I want to install ME 1.8 CFW on it. Am I correct in assuming I just need to put it on the psp and install it, because reading the readme provided seems to imply that I need prior cfw or hen? No guides I've seen regarding this have mentioned such things though, so I'm just asking right here how I should actually proceed.

I dunno, something about this seems like it is really just too easy, and I'm just reading a lot of the wrong info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use this:6.60ME-1.8 (OFW Version) - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums to install 6.60ME-1.8 if your on 6.60 OFW

Ah, so there is nothing else required after all? Thanks, I'll reply back(hopefully with success) when I get a new battery in a day or so since the old one kinda died.

Just a quick update. I thought I had to run two files(installer, then updater), but all there was on the xmb was the updater, which I guess runs the installer. Regardless running that worked just fine, and I've got 1.8 ME working fine on it now. Thanks for the help.

edit: I guess the question, if any is PSP-1000 owners only have to run one file?

I ran the installer once...didn't have to do it again.

The "installer" and "launcher" refer to "LME" CFW, which typically is used on TA-088v3 Slims, 3000, PSP Go! and PSP Street
