    Hi all

A couple of years ago I had a 1st gen psp that I made some firmware changes to so that I could do what I wanted, and now I'm thinking of getting another to do it again.

I have found locally for a reasonable price a PSP 3002 running 6.0 (according to the current owner)

Using google I found a lot of different answers to wether or not I can change the firmware. Most of the no's are from 2009/2010.

Am I able to downgrade my firmware from 6.0 to 5.03 and then do the custom firmware thing now?

I'd be looking to play backups and the usual web browsing/music and movies etc.

    Thanks in advance

No need to downgrade, instead update to 6.60 and then use this:6.60LME-1.8 - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums

    thanks very much.

I've just got it home and it is actually 6.39, but the person I bought it off was pretty young and I had to tell him where to find the firmware info so I'm not surprised it was wrong.
I assume that 6.39 is the same as your post?

    Cheers mate

Use the link I provided. Your going to place the "installer" and "launcher" folders from the download into the "GAME" folder on your memory stick. Run the "installer" first and follow any on-screen instructions. When it reboots, run the "launcher" and it will re-boot into 6.60LME-1.8. Everytime you turn on your PSP, just run the "launcher" and you will be right back on "Lite"CFW(6.60LME-1.8)
