Hi. I'm a new user here that's been trying to fix his PSP-1000 for some time. My current firmware is 5.00 m33-6 and I've been wanting to upgrade to the new 6.60 cfw. The problem is, when I tried to install 6.60 ofw, it gave me the error DRNFFFFFFCD. I looked this up and I found it was a key error so I downloaded Keycleaner 1.3 and patched the 0x005 key (this is probably where I made the mistake). I keep getting the same error and now I find that I can't unpatch it because that would risk bricking (according to the program and several sources). Can anyone help me out with fixing this key and getting 6.60 ofw so I get the appropriate cfw? I don't have a pandora battery but my recovery flasher seems to be able to softmod my battery.

P.S. Sorry if I sound like a noob here. I'm relatively new at PSP hacking.

Grab your self a memory stick that's magicgate supported
Use rains magic memory stick creator you will also need the 500.pbp
since you have a 1000 you can use the softmod function so go ahead and turn it into a pb

Get back to me after you have done these steps

Ok. I did that. I ran the MMS creator and it put some files on my memory stick. By the looks of it, the 500.pbp file is already there and it was created from the program. I patched my battery over to Pandora mode. What do I do next? I already put the battery in which should have started it in service mode iirc, but instead, it started it normally. I'll wait to hear from you before doing anything else.

I unpatched it and then repatched it. It still starts normally when I insert the battery. Would I be better off hard-modding it? I'm using the Hellcat's recovery flasher to patch the battery. Is there a better program by any chance?

EDIT: I've used the battery like that before when all I got was a green light and a black screen. What would I have done next at that point?

EDIT2: I took out my memory stick and inserted the battery. All it gave me was a green light. When I inserted the memory stick, however, it started it up normally. Don't know if this helps any, but just wanted to let you know.

Ok. I went there and I don't see something that says something about that. I see the following options in that menu

    • Back
    • Advanced Configuration
    • Toggle USB (flash0)
    • Toggle USB (flash1)
    • Toggle USB (flash2)
    • Toggle USB (flash3)
    • Format flash1 and reset setting

From what I know, messing with the flash memory isn't advised so I hit advanced configuration and this is what I got.

    • Plain modules in UMD/ISO (currently: disabled)
    • Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO (currently: disabled)
    • XMB Plugins (currently: Enabled)
    • GAME plugins (currently: Enabled)
    • POPS plugins (currently: Enabled)

Is there something about one of these options that I'm missing?

EDIT: I notice that everybody in videos uses Sandisk memory cards. I'm using a Sony M2 card + adapter. Am I not using the right kind of memory stick?

EDIT 2: I found out the problem. All I needed to do was hold L

EDIT 3: I'm now on 5.00 OFW. I tried updating to 6.60 and it's still giving me the same error (DRNFFFFFFCD). I'm now back on M33-4.

EDIT FINAL: I used an IDstorage editor and edited the key myself. It's updating as normal now. Thanks!
