I cannot update from CFW (5.50 Prome-3) to official 6.60

I bought a used PSP-1000 from someone who had installed the CFW 5.50 Prome-3 onto it. Because it is 5.50, I cannot access PSN. But I also want to update to 6.60 for other reasons, but I cannot do this. I have tried:

-Updating via the official Sony method. It gives me an error like "The configuration of this psp is incorrect"
-Updating via the recovery menu method. It gives me the error "The game cannot be started"
NOTE: I have tried changing the UMD thingy. I still get The game cannot be started

-Simply changing the version.txt to 6.60 in order to connect to PSN. This gives me a connection error.

This is my first PSP so I don't entirely know what I'm doing. I simply want to update/restore to the OFW and go from there.

The fact that your getting the "The configuration of this psp is incorrect" is never a good thing. Try this though;

1. Follow this guide:http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-fir...made-easy.html, scroll down to Section 6 and look for the GEN BYPASS and perform the 2nd Method.

2. Once you have changed the version txt, try updating to 6.60. Post back if it works and if it doesnt work, tell me what error you get

The system configuration of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be started. Contact technical support for assistance. (DRNFFFFFFB0)

yeah you need an idstorage fix for sure what you will need is a pandora battery and a magic memory stick

Okay, this is sort of a crappy used PSP, and a very old one at that, so I'm just going to buy a new PSP or something (I only paid $60 for this one). Oh well. Will I need a pandora battery for a new PSP 3000?

Depending on where your at in Canada, it might be cheaper to send it to dankgame(middle USA) or you can send it to me (California)
