PSP Noob needing help

Hi All,

I have been trying to update my psp to 6.60 cfw for a few days but im beliving im screwing it worse.
I have a psp 1000 phat.

I was running on 5.00 m33-6 previously but formatted it to 5.00 ofw using hellcat not knowing what im doing.
Im unable to use both network update ( DNS error) or manually update ( downloading file from sony and place it into UPDATE folder) to 6.60 ofw.
Im getting error DRNFFFFFFCD. ( did some research taht i need to run keycleaner v1.4 to solve this problem.)

But im unable to run keycleaner/idstorage/hellcat recovery. Error (the game cannot be started the data is corrupted)

Im currently stuck on 5.00 ofw. When ever i tried to update back to 5.00m33-6 i would get the same error too. (the game cannot be started the data is corrupted)

My psp currently cant run anitin.

Could some pros pls advise on what can i do to update to 6.60 cfw?

fisrt of all go to your settings and reset ur psp to defaults it wont erase ur data but i also recommend formating ur card
it should delete any leftovers in ur flash
try then and tell me

Ok. I have reset my psp to default and reformat my memory card. Whats shld I do next?

What happens when you try to update wirelessly?

They provude with a error code. When I google it, it states rhat there is a dns error.
I tried to defualt my settings and update again but the same error just persists no matter how many time I try.

I'm now trying to pgrade to 5.03 OFW , Enable chickHen and then upgrade to 5.50 GEN D3

But every time when I'm trying to update my 5.00 ofw to 5.03 ofw.
I'm getting the DRNFFFFFFCD.

But I can't run keycleaner/ idstorage to fix that problem or even hellcat recovery.

Can any one enlighten me what r the steps I need to do to get to a custom firmware?

Try this first;

1. Enter recovery and find the option to "disable network update" or something like that. m33 used to have its own network update that allowed you to update m33 through Dark Alex's own server but since that doesnt exist anymore, it cant find the "network update" so it will give you an error.

2. If you are able to update to 6.60 after disabling what I told you above, then your good to go. If you get an error, let me know what it is

How can i get to 5.00 ofw to cfw?

Im unable to run chickhen r2 as im unable to upgrade to 5.03 ofw with DRNFFFFFFCD error.

Back up anything important on your memory stick and format it. When you try to update manually, are you placing the EBOOT from the download in the UPDATE folder in this order;

PSP>GAME>UPDATE>EBOOT.PBP

Your going to need to perform an IDStorage fix. This requires that you have a pandoras/MMS combo
