Okay, I've been trying for ages but I finally am giving up and signed up for an account after months for scouring the forums for advice.

So, the title says it all: I need help installing custom icons for my official PSP compatible games.

    Some info about my setup:
    1. I'm using a PSP Go
    2. I'm running CFW 6.60 PRO-B10
    3. I'm asking for help modifying OFFICIAL PSN eBoots (PSP, PS One Classics, and PS Minis)

I already made a few custom PNGs for some PS One games (Parasite Eve, Abe's Oddysee, Spyro 1) and they are already in the proper dimensions (144x80)
I also already made a few custom Sound files (at3) but that was a while ago and I forgot how to do that lol.All I need help with now is icons the music files I could just look up again sometime later.

I've tried MagicISO, UMDGen, and PBP Unpacker.
The closest I've gotten was with PBP unpacker, but when I pack up a new PBP the icons and custom music work just fine for Parasite Eve but I get an error stating that the data is corrupt.

Again I'm trying to modify the games that I bought from Sony, maybe I have to strip them of some kind of DRM by converting them to ISO or something? I dunno, but I just want bigger icons and can't stand the little squares that the PS1 and PS Mini games use.

What kills me the most is that I KNOW it's freaking possible because I see threads asking for people to post their "PSX icons" but I'm pretty damn sure those are using pirated copies of games not official PSN downloads.

No help for a legit user?

No, I make my own icons, so a link to The Icon Archive doesn't help.
The problem I'm having is that I can't get them to apply to my PSN downloads properly.

I unpacked a PS One game that I bought from Sony's PSN store, and then I repacked it with custom art that I made. I did that with PBP Unpacker.
The home made images I used show up just fine on my PSP Go (CFW 6.60 PRO-B10), the problem then is that I can't play my PS One game (Parasite Eve) due to data being "corrupt".

Do I need to do something to my official PSN eboot BEFORE unpacking/repacking it? Maybe I'm re-packing it wrong (don't think so but it's possible)?

Maybe you need to decrypt the game first. Try using this:NPDecrypter - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums.

If that doesnt work, use this:UMD dump simple - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP / PS Vita Forums, this will dump an ISO of your PSN download allowing you to possibly add your custom game icon

Those sound promising, Thanks for the input I'll try them out later today.

For now, I'm going to take my PSP Go, hook it up to the speaker system and go swimming while the SensMe app plays music. I've been cooped up in here staring at my screen for a long while reading a maddening amount of forum threads and getting frustrated. I'll report back if your suggestion worked in a few hours!

Neither UMD Dump Simple, nor NPDecrypter work on my PSP Go. I even when to the recover menu and checked to see if it is registering the plugins but they both show up and are enabled. Despite being enabled neither plugin actually functions when I load any game regardless of format (PS1,PSP, PSMini).

Do you think it would be easier to modify an already made ISO? If we assume I obtain an ISO from an undisclosed location on the internet (of course of what I already own) will that be easier to crack open and modify the XMB icons and music of? I already paid for the games on the PSN so I have no moral qualms with obtaining a "pre-ripped" version from someone else. Is there a special way to play PS One rips. I feel like I'm doing something backwards that no one else is doing and I'm going to assume it is the fact that I'm trying to work with legit PSN files instead of files that were worked over by someone more skilled at game ripping.

I don't want to buy UMDs and an old PSP model just to get custom icons. I'm relatively new to this whole scene, but I refuse to believe that I'm the first person to run into this problem and that, in 2012, after almost a decade's worth of Homebrewing and reverse engineering there isn't a solution to this.

I have an idea, let me ask the question differently:
How can I get PS1 games on my PSP and then give them custom icons. Ignore the fact that I bought these games from PSN; using any technique you know, how would you get PS One/PSP/PS mini games onto a PSP Go running 6.60 PRO-B10 with custom icons, background and music?
