FIXED: "The game could not be started." (80010002)/(80020148)
Heya! Thanks for the help, the new Iso worked perfectly, but when I start a new game, it kinda crashes about a minute and a half into the intor animation. But I am told a faster memory card should rectify the issue! |

Hi, noob here too. I've just put in a new game in my 2gb memorystick 'FF7: Crisis Core'. I tried to start it but it gave an error "The game could not be started. (80020148)"
My current psp version is 3.10 OE-A and its a PHAT. My umd IS inserted, NFS: Most wanted.
I've done the recovery but it still gives me the same error. |

I've done the recovery but it still gives me the same error. | before you load the game, does the background image come up? Cause if not, you probably have a corrupted iso, was the case for me! Still aint got mine working though, cause I think the mem card is too slow. But the game loads now though! |

Heres how
in recovery menu goto CPU Speed-> and put the maximum setting (burns battery fast but game/homebrew runs smooth Quote:

I've done the recovery but it still gives me the same error. | you should just upgrade because the old FWs tend to be problems from the new games

Also - try with any game UMD disk in the drive. I have found this eliminated *ALL* of my remaining iso/cso issues. |

thanks for the suggestion was and will be given... | did you format the card via your pc or via your psp?
formatting through the psp should recreate all the necessary folders, so when you insert the card into your pc, the folder marked ISO should turn up! |

what you tried to do: tried holding r and turning on but it's no difference. it's just like turning it on the normal way. same screen whatnot
what error you got (Code/Black Screen): 80010002(when i have a UMD inside) and 80020321 when i don't.
and any mods you may have done to your Flash0 and Flash1: like any modifications? no. i only enabled it. |

But I have HAD to reformat the card about ten times or more because I kept on getting this error when I had 3.52 then went to 3.71 and still the same.... Quote:

But If your getting these errors with the offcial FW then something might be worng wit your psp
try to install custom FW and upgrade to 3.80M33-5
I have the phat(original) psp and this is a good FW for but it does not have C-intros..........
