OK, I am trying to fix a psp that bricked whilst updating from a genuine UMD.

It had no custom firmware ad was upgrading to one of Sony's from a game UMD but bricked.

I have a pandora and created the memeory stick via this programme.

When i put the memory stick in the psp and the pandora only the green light comes on, nothing else, still black screen of death.

I have tried it in my sons psp which is running custom firmware which works fine, and still nothing comes up.

Is there any way to tell if the pandora i brought is faulty? as far as i know the memory stick has created properly.

Any help would be apreciated.

I am currently running official 5.03 firmware. I have a homeade pandoras batt (cut copper lead). The catb50 dos program seemed to work. sooo what do i do now? do i run the cementario thing? because it says the game data for cementario is corrupted and it cannot run. Halpz me!!

to make a magic mem stick...
All you need is a program called PspGrader, from google, it doesn't let me post the url or i wud have give it aswell.
don't need nothing else.
it makes your psp, 3.90m33-3
that is so far the best cfw out, because you can get a lot of things on it, and cxmb which is very cool.
if you dont want 3.90m33-3 then jus upgrade it to the latest firware out, at this moment in time 5.00m33-6

Hi, I have tried this in linux under Ubuntu hardy. I don't know if some one has already posted to this effect sorry if they have, I couldn't be arsed reading through all the posts (got to around page 5).

Unless you figure a way to run batch files (.bat) under wine, then it won't work under linux os. (ps I dont know if there is a way to run .bat's under wine and haven't looked too much into it, but I couldn't do it)

I had difficulties using a windows os in VMware (xVM virtual box etc.) under ubuntu due to USB problems. When the psp mode is changed (?) - i.e. half way through it seems to change its id(? or something) and it gets disconnected in windows under VMware. I had similar problem trying to flash/reset/recover pda`s and phones using windows in VMware under linux, when they change access mode or reset into recovery etc., the usb connection gets reset and the virtual machine needs the connection redefining, but that is usually only possible out of the vm and things got too frustrating and complex for me (could just be me over complicating things).

So, essentially, I couldn't do it, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. I reckon that someone with a bit more understanding or patience than me could do it, and possibly publish a guide (I cant find one and I was looking!).

Although I only didn't look too much into it because I went to my parents the day after my tool pandora battery arrived so just to save frustration and possible bricking I did it on their xp machine.

you do need cfw but its for noobs by its easy to do

Im a complete noob at this and im have a problem. i made a magic memory stick and im using a datel tool battery. i stick in the battery and the memory stick and the screen just stays black, im currently running 4.01ofw and im using windows xp, can someone please help!

Can I just ask is this software compatable with Windows Vista?
Also what would you say is the risk of breaking my psp during the process of making the magic memory stick out of ten.

it's not working with my slim, i have the pandora battery made from a while ago and it worked on a slim before... i have the stick in and i hold the L button when i put the battery in and the screen stays black, the same as it would if it were bricked
