You have to put your eboot.pbp Inside of a subfolder in the GAME folder. |

dudeonline has the right idea. grab urself a decent iso to eboot converter like rsgui or psx2psp. put ur eboot in a folder that you create and then place that folder in the game folder (which you will find in the psp folder on the root of your memory stick)
and i have had all resident evils working, usually with older pops around 3.40 or 3.52 from memory |

Sry i wasnt more specific, i have been making sub folders for the eboots in the F/psp/game folder. i reinstalled my firmware and popsloader and now im getting "The game could not be started(80020136)" with different pops (i tried 3.40, 3.71, and 3.72) and when i load it with original from flash it freezes on Playstation screen.
Ps
i dont have a psp mini usb cable, i have a generic mini usb cable that im using, could that somehow be causing the files to corrupt as i put them on my psp? Just a though, i did make my MMS with the same cable and that worked fine, idk just trying to get this stuff workin. |

im super sorry to double post but i cant figure out how to update,
ok moved on to a different less scratched game (gundam battle assault 2) it functions normal but freezes when i try to skip the begining video(cuz its not the correct pops as the wiki guide told me) but still having a problem with pops loader cuz when i try to start it in 3.40(wiki's recommended pops) it freezes on a blank screen when i start it. (keep in mind i did EXACTLY what the guide told me to do.) Has this ever happened to you? cuz i think thats my problem not the eboots but in popsloader cuz everytime i try to open a game with a pops other than original from flash it goes straight to black screen and freezes. ill try completely redoing what the guide says again but still any suggestions lol. i feel like im sooooooo close haha.
UPDATE:
I got both games working. Somehow i made an error while dumping files or something. I downloaded the seplugins folder u had linked at the bottom of the guide, deleted my se plugins folder and replaced it with that one now its working perfect. Im soooooooooo stoked, thanks for all the help, im going to play resident evil haha.

It would have been more fulfilling if you did manage to dump the files yourself and get it working.
but i am glad that you can play ur games now.
well done

using 5.00 m33-6 | are you using the correct dumper?? you will notice in the guide that there are 2 dumpers used. one for the early firmwares and a second for 3.80 and above. Quote:

I am not sure where you have gone wrong. I dont think it is your psp. it may be the firmware version you are using. or may simply be that you have skipped parts of the guide. |

Step By Step Popsloader Installation Guide
I have a similar problem to someone few posts up.
I have PSP Slim 2004 5.50 GEN-b2, ripped myself pops 3.72 (and DL all other pops'es from 3.00 to 4.xx) and the latest popsloader. And the fun begins: when i try to start any game with popsloader i get a black screen. I can't use Home button nor start, just have to reset it with power. Tried it with 3 games: FF9, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Harvest Moon: back to nature, always with the same result. Each of the games work fine on "Load original flash". I've tried to download different packages with popsloader, ripped 3.72 myself, checked everything twice, enabled popsloader in recovery mode. All the ISOs are good, i never had problem with Harvest Moon on any PSP i ever had in my hands . What could be the problem ? |

soo i did this and i put 3.40 3.71 3.72 on there correctly. i tried 4.01 and some of the necessary files were missing? well im on cfw 5.00 m33-6 and when i load up my final fantasy 7 eboot it brings up the pops selection where if i click on 3.71 it goes to a black screen and freezes on the spot with the green power light on, if i try 3.40 it does the same exact thing, when i try 3.72 it freezes on the same selection screen and doesnt even go black along with every other pop i load. and then if i try original from flash i can click on new game and then it goes black and freezes. can anyone help me? |

I believe that the problem is that you were using 5.50 and i do not know if this popsloader is compatible. however in saying that i have no idea. you say that original from flash works, as it should since it simply loads the pops already on ur psp, if it is going to a black screen with other pops selection then it is popsloader that is wrong. or maybe the way you have named ur files or something.. If you have 5.00 cfw and you follow the guide exactly then you will definately have it working on 3.71 pops. I have used 5.00 m33-6 on peoples psps to load this pops and have never had any problems, unless the eboot has a problem.
Make sure that it is not the game by trying some games that are compatible with 5.00 (check the compatibility wiki at the bottom of the guide).
If it is not the game then you will have to search for the problem. it could be as simple as you have named the prx files wrong or something like that. |
