Ok thanks, which CFW should I install? (i'm very new to the PSP scene)

Also, if people are having problems with this, make sure your power supply is plugged in. I tried it without it at first, and it didn't work, but as soon as I plugged in the power supply, it worked perfectly.

You don't need the bat. Just follow these instructions to manually put the files in the correct place:

Depending on your PSP Model, you're going to need a specific tiff image. If you have a Phat (1000) PSP, use the tiff image supplied in the "PHAT" folder and copy it to ms0:/PSP/PHOTO. Else copy the tiff image in the "SLIM" folder to ms0:/PSP/PHOTO. After you've copied the image to your PSP, you can copy the h.bin supplied to the root of the memorystick (ms0:/). This should be sufficient for PSP to reboot into ChickHEN.

Then continue with the guide.

sid: you can just copy the files yourself. highlight the h.bin and the PSP folder in the .rar you downloaded, press CTRL C, and then go to your PSP memory stick, make sure its in the top level with the PSP folder visible, and press CTRL V

That's all the .bat does

killer is right, except you must update to 5.03 if you are at a lower firmware.

Inferno: Are you sure your PSP is hackable? Which PSP do you have? And 5.00m33-6 is the current m33 release

It's meant to just happen. The tiff exploit image should be at the bottom of the list, and you should scroll to the bottom while it's loading all the images, then when it goes to load the last one it should just work.

Yes, and just keep trying it a few times, it might take five or six attempts for it to work.

There are things you can try to make it more successful. J0ey has a thread here (HEN around the corner!) with a few options that could work.

You don't. As has already been said, this exploit does not support full backup ISO/CSO loading and never will. Homebrew only.

[What it does?]
ChickHEN works as a homebrew enabler for all PSP models (1000, 2000 and 3000) and allows execution of homebrew games and apps on 5.03 Official firmware. It can allow you to play games such as Bugz!, Jellycar or run apps such as pspfiler and PSPTube. Homebrew enhances the experience of a normal PSP without any faulty side-effects.

[What it does not do?]
- Run ISO, CSO or any other form of UMD backup.
- Run PSX Games
- Touch The Flash of your beloved PSP
- Magically allow the use of Custom Firmware (on TA-088v3 or PSP 3000)
- Load plugins

[Can it break my PSP?]
ChickHEN works differently to all previous HEN's. Instead of flashing to flash0, it resides entirely in RAM to prevent any damage to the system. Sure enough, you can run applications in HEN to flash stuff but I strongly recommend against it. ChickHEN comes with no warrenty, no guanantee and you run this software under your own responsibility.
Quoted from the description of the download file. Which looks like it's quoted from R2 release notes.
