Well, mac was never built for the average day user until as of recent. As the popularity grows they are going to have to cater the everyday user, and make it user friendly.
I myself would not even consider mac user friendly. I have owned my macbook pro for a year now, and still learning how to use it. At work, and my desktop at home I use Windows. So, it is awkward at times to hop on my mac and use it, because having the windows habits. For what I use it for it works great (digital arts, music creation, and college). All in all I love my mac for what I use it for.
