It's the amount of electrical current running... It's the amount of electrical current running through the charger. It might just take longer to charge. But if it charges fine and doesn't start making weird noises and making the psp really hot then...

Yes as you both have the same model the screens... Yes as you both have the same model the screens can be swapped.
Here's a video tutorial to remove the screen, just follow the steps in reverse to install the new screen....
PSP's don't really have much in the way of... PSP's don't really have much in the way of cooling and the 1000 is the worst one for getting hot, but like maysam says if the card is getting hot then something isn't right.
