Default Another idea?

I've looked around a bit, didn't see nothing on the subject. This has been bothering me for quite some time now. Using the GTA exploit, I know that we can drop in the coding to run Tetris(which never works for me, always crashes once I get the datestamps figured out), SnakeMan, Penguin Scramble, and Pong. Could it be possible to drop in the coding for an emulator, possibly one for the SNES? I can get my hands on the hard copies, so it's not piracy on my part. I'm not computer-savvy, so if any problems would arise, I don't see any other than saving your ROM states(which given that other people use emulators, may not be the problem).

If I had any experience in...anything, I'd contribute to such a project.

I also dabbled in the idea of injecting a downgrader code, but I gave it up. I figured there was some security issue somewhere, and that some games require a higher FW version. I don't want to have to give up my UMDs for ROMs.

I have my doubts to that any of this would work. I know the GTA exploit has been around for just a little bit, but that's plenty of enough time for someone to have thought of something like this - so I'm assuming that the idea on an emulator being forced in has been shot down already.

I know this is a double post, but God help us all if it isn't a good one.

Fanjita succeeds in bringing SNES Emulation to 2.01+ PSP Firmware

Fanjita has let us in on a bit of news that is sure to make many 2.01+ users deliriously happy. He and Ditlew have managed to get uo_Snes9x, a Super Nintendo Emulator by Y, running on 2.01+ firmware. This preview and the release of the Multi Save Game Loader, looks to be the start of what the Eboot Loader meant for 2.0 firmware. Console emulation is one of the most commonly sought after features of PSP homebrew. In a couple of days it looks like it will be a pleasant reality.

We finally made a more solid breakthrough with the EBOOT loader for GTA tonight. Not only does the menu now work properly, but I've also managed to run the uo_SNES9x emulator, and play the Pilotwings ROM (the only one I have), on both v2.0 and v2.5.

At the moment everything is hanging together with a pretty nasty hack. Ideally I'd like to get that fixed up before release, but it's more likely that we'll decide to release things as they currently are, and iron out that issue later.

Please note that lots of basic homebrew is still not working, but I thought that getting SNES emulation running was a big enough milestone to celebrate! Also, if we do decide to release, it will take a few days to knock the code into a releasable format.

Amazing work once again Fanjita and Ditlew. Congratulations on your latest accomplishment.

Looks like I'm just another Johnny-Come-Lately. I'll be in line downloading this once alot of issues are banged out.

I creamed as well. After this, there's no doubt Fanjita will probably release a catch-all GB emulator.

EBGames and GameStop stores don't card me. I look 37 or so, (I'm 17), but I don't even hear a beep or see anything asking "Is Customer Over 17?" on the register.

That is, I buy used games. I picked up a used GTA for my 11 year old cousin, and they swapped it for a new one, not even then did they card me.

Again, I apologize for the double post. But Fanjita has this to say:

"29 Jan 2006 : v2.60 Syscalls Found

Thanks to a brainwave from Ditlew, we've had a breakthrough finding the v2.6 firmware syscalls, and we think we have about 90% of them figured out.

So this means, basically, that a version of the eLoader that works on v2.6 is really not very far away now. Woohoo! "

Just a little longer.
