Ok since i had so many questions on doing this here it is

I won't be covering how to do this from a unmodified PSP
there are plenty of guides how to do that

this CFW will NOT run on the 3k series it is only for the 1K 2K series of PSP

What you need
Hellcat's Recovery Flasher
GEN-A full installer
GEN-B Installer
GEN-D Installer
GEN-D2 quick updater
Pandora and MMS (Incase things go fubar have it ready ahead of time so you
don't go smacking your head later)

If your already useing GEN then simply goto the next highest firmware in this guide
and continue from that point.

first make a backup of your flash useing Hellcat's

Now i tested this from 3.80 m33-5 so should work from any higher fimeware as well

You can go from 5.00 M33-6 directly to Gen-D then just patch to D2

Run the GEN-A installer

Run the GEN-B Installer

Run the GEN-D Installer

Run the D2 Updater

now useing Hellcat's restore the following
XMB theme related files
Settings
PSN Store Activation (if you use the store)

Exit
Duble check ALL your settings including the UMD Mode

Your now running GEN-D2 and can run any UMD that needs OFW 5.50 + without patching

I do not have a 1000 series to test this out on so can't garentee it will work
but it should.

If you have any utilities or apps that don't work after the update. check for a newer ver of that item I have found that 99% of the issues with compatability are solved by simply running the newest build of the app in question

For people who aren't already on Gen-B or B2, an upgrade straight from A will semi-brick.

Just pick up from where you are in the guide, from B2 you goto the next higher firmware in the guide in your case thats right to D then goto D2

This is a really effective guide; however, if I may add a suggestion, how come Gen A is needed? For people that are on lower firmwares, can they not simply upgrade from that firmware to 5.00 m33-6, go to Gen B, and so on? Again, just a suggestion

when i tested several methods of getting to D2 i found if you skip A the install of B hangs and sometimes fails. going to A first keeps that from happining and prevents any possible issues.

I did around 20 installs with various start points starting with A gave the best and most stable results every time

you will also need the sony 5.50 firmware that you can find with google
just remember to rename it 550 the GEN-D installer should be able to download it. but sometimes it don't work quite right so it's better to find it and place it on the MS yourself

Hi, sorry I've been away from the scene so I'm a bit confused. In your first post you say that people can go from 5.00m33-6 directly to GenD then to D-2, but in your reply's you say that you have to be on Gen A then B then to D and D-2. So which is the best way, I'm at 5.00m33-6. And will popsloader stuff from m33 work on GenD-2? I've read a ton of stuff and still cant be sure how things that work in M33 will work in GenD-2.

I'm kinda confused here. Can't I just install Gen-D while running 5.00 M33-6, then update to D2? And is Hellcat really necessary if I have Pandora?

Edit: I updated directly to D from M33 without issues. Nothing more nothing less

saw you edited, but you are correct...even in my guides i tell just to go from m33-6 to gend, d2...as you saw when you did it

Hi, I am new to these things.
I have a PSP with 5.03 GEN-A (full) on a TA-090v2. If I am not mistaken it is a PSP 3000, but nor sure. Can I Upgrade to this firmware?

so when is someone coming out with a hack for we the 300x user.Just had it not long with OFW 5.55.I know realized that i cannot be hack so am stake now.
Any tutorial out yet for 3001 OFW 5.55?
