Default Help What version of PSP should I get if I can't get 1.50

I assume I shouldn't get slim

But I am new to PSP modding... But not new to SNES NES etc emulation.. So from an experienced person... What PSP do you recommend that I settle for if I cannot get my hands on a 1.50 PSP?

Also.. I am not going to use it for UMD gaming... Mainly emulation... And reading PDF files... Mainly for trips away from home etc... I could care less about the UMD games on the PSP... BUT I do not want it bricked... So it'd be great if it still actually will work...

So if I cannot settle for 1.50 fw psp... what version should I at least get that can be downgraded to 1.50?

any version on the FAT PSP can be downgraded to 1.5 via the Pandora battery method. However if you don't want to make/buy a pandora battery then 3.5 is the highest. If you are at 3.5 then you can use an unpatched version of Lumines to downgrade.

Why don't you want a slim? They are much better then the phat psps in my opinion. Take a look at this thread:

(SLIM vs. PHAT)

If you want to play emulated games and read PDF files on the road, you are going to need to use Pandora's Battery to go to a custom firmware, because the official firmware does not support PDF files or any emulation software.

And I'm with VeryThinPSP, if you can get a slim, then get it.
