First, if you have any original version of Sony's Firmware, you will need to downgrade to 1.50 depending on which version you have. (Pandoras battery works for all)...If you do not have a Pandoras battery, make one. There are many threads on how to do this, just search. You will most likely ruin your battery in the process (meaning no longer being able to use it as a normal battery, but able to keep it around as a Pandoras).
You also have to make a magic memory stick to downgrade, which I used some download that also installed custom firmware in the process (it was called newbieinstaller something...) anyways, once you have CFW (custom firmware) you can now add homebrew games (downloaded PSP games) onto your memory stick to play on PSP. The ISO or CSO files will go directly into your ISO file. To get to your ISO file connect your PSP to usb, goto your root menu (F: G: E

in my case its on F:. Once there goto PSP, then there should be an ISO file there, if not, then just right click and create a new folder and name is ISO. Once that is done you should be able to disconnect your PSP and play the game. If not, turn it off, then back on while holding R, this will bring you to recovery mode, and goto config. and make sure your UMD is set to NO-UMD.
Hope this helps in any way. There are many many many tutorials on how to downgrade your psp, then upgrade to CFW, and also how to add ISO's, Emulators, Movies, etc.
