Default How do you figure out what motherboard a PSP has?

I'm going to likely have to buy a used 'slim in the future, need to know.

check the date code
some psps have it
its below the battery and is two lettered
something like
8b or 8c
8c are 88v3 usually

Default How do you figure out what motherboard a PSP has?

Well the TA-088v3 identifier thingy is good.

But if you have a pandora and mms, just pop them in with DCv7 or one of the later DC's, and it will give you an option to check the PSP information.

Granted you won't even get that far if it is TA-088v3 because it will boot normally.

So I should just get a Phat if I want to easily mod it then?

Does the phat have to have 3.80+ preinstalled to use a Pandora, or is a Pandora compatible with all PSPs/Firmwares as long as the motherboard isn't a TA-088v3.
