It's not suppose to be a laptop. It's suppose to be the next generation (by apple, obviously) business smartphone. It's one of the first phones to have multi-input touch screen, which means it is responsive to you touching multiple points of the screen simultaneously.

In response to apple's iphone, Samsung has revealed their smartphone:

Only bad thing is, that iphone will only be backed by Cingular as it's carrier. You can of, of course, by it unlocked, but you'll have to pay the full price (499USD 4GB, 599USD 8GB).

The Samsung F700 is Tri-band, which means no GSM850 which means no Cingular.

but if you renew a contract, you get a better price. and is it really that much more than any other higher end cells out right now anyway? new treo, blackberry, lg, samsung, ericsson, motorola phones are going as high as 500, even as high as 800. and one could argue the iphone has more to offer than these. why not have everything in one? ill be buying one probably in the late fall..... i trust apple products, and its great amount of features and upgradeability is pretty good.

its no way a laptop, more of a blackberry/ipod/daily planner/text message machine.

the ipod part i dont really need, and dont think ill use very much, but everything else will get its daily use, for sure.
