More than likely you bricked your PSP, (Try recovery mode if you have custom firmware by pressing and holding the "R" button on your PSP) Did you turn off your PSP while updating?

Okkk, if u havent fixed the problem by now, i hope this can help....this recently happened to me w/o custom FW either......Firmware is the system software that your PSP runs on and Sony issued FW's do little things like give you visualizations when playing music, and give access to connections with PS3 and other small tunings, but also block access to hombrew with each new FW issued...but that may be getting to complicated...so now on to how you MIGHT fix your problem: when u turn on your PSP and see the green light, turn your PSP on its side and look @ the screen, do you see a slight glow over the black? if so try holding down the screen brightness button (located next to the "PSP" logo) untill the "black glow" goes away and makes the screen reset, then press any button to make the screen turn back on. Also try avoiding opening the UMD door when the disc is being read. This might help if you have higher non-custom FW. happens to me also.."pero no se que" [but i dont know why...]

EDIT: here is the thread explaining FW: dragon ball z: shin budokai
