    AVG for virus
    Spybot & Ad-Aware for Spyware
    Zone Alarm for firewall

For virus removal I recommend Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0, and not AVG 7.5. AVG is is just as useless as Nortan AV & Mcafee AV.

I use Norton Corp. edition. It's free, its good, new definitions every tuesday. AGV is good too I used it before I came across this edition of norton.

I also recommend Kaspersky, Kaspersky found viruses with that AVG never did. Go with Kaspersky.

NoD32 is pretty good I'll have to admit for that for sure, also Panda is good too.
    Kaspersky is good hands down.

Do not and I mean it. Do not use Nortan or Mcafee both AV suites are worthless to viruses. AVG is getting there too. You have to stay away from the ones which are too popular. Kaspersky is getting there too, but still better than AVG for now.

You have to understand good hackers make viruses that go around AV programs. That being said Nortan & Mcafee can't find a elephant if they sat on one.

I have norton 2007 on my pc and it really doesnt slow it down. I like the firewall, anti-spyware, and anti-virus in one package.

hell, if you want free norton, just sign up for their beta testing program. ROFL...if you don't mind the occasional BSOD, you can have Norton Internet Security 2008...and I'm pretty sure they make the final retail build available to download for all of the beta testers...which wouldn't be so bad...
