I was wondering if it was possible for a memory stick to be defective in that it cannot store videos? My memory stick can store homebrews and iso's and music(though sometimes it says corrupted.) but every time I put a video on there it comes up on screen as corrupted.

how are you storing your videos? drag & drop to ms0:/video? usually that won't work you have to move your video files to MP_Root/100MNV01. to get videos on my psp i just use psp max media manager, which does that automatically.

ms0:/VIDEO/ works but there are a few caveats when it was first introduced. You cannot use an AVC level greater than 2.1, otherwise, it shows up as corrupted. I'm not sure if this has changed especially since support of full resolution and DVD resolution was added. However, this restriction can be circumvented by using the old folder and file naming structure for videos.

    MPEG-4 SP:
    ms0:/MP_ROOT/100MNV01/M4V12345.MP4

    MPEG-4 AVC:
    ms0:/MP_ROOT/100ANV01/MAQ12345.MP4

I put the files in to the mp root folder. I have tried it through psp video 9 and manually. The files are named right too. I am at a loss, I am starting to think that maybe the mem stick is just defective.

EDIT: Okay, I just tried one more time to transfer with psp video 9 and then after it was transferred I tried to change the title.(the title not the filename) I got this message:
" Error: Could not change the System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
    Parameter name: startIndex
    at System. ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentOutofRangeException..."
    ect ect ect...
I 2 huge paragraph explanation that makes no sence to me.

i don't think it's a memory card problem, they have to be MP4's and they need to go in the right folder. if it's not working when you put it in the folders that ilovejedd told you then you probably have a firmware issue.

I don't mod much anymore, but I do give good game advice.

It probably doesn't have enough room for a whole video, so you're cutting it short. Otherwise, try formatting it.
