Hi all and thanks for looking. Basically I have a p4 laptop that plays halo 1 great.Anyways, I'm gonna upgrade t0 vista(I think my laptop can handle it).Only prob is that I think the ram is only expandable to 1gb. Anyways, I want to know a graphics card for laptops that can play halo.Or Should I just end up saving up to purchase a half decent desktop for my gaming needs? I only want to do that as a last resort seeing that I have a ps3. Thanks

    RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS

    OS: Windows Vista
Processor: 2 Ghz Pentium 4 class processor (or x64)
    RAM: 1 GB
    Hard Drive: 7 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 6100, ATI X700, or above
Online Multi-player: Internet connection for Games for Windows – LIVE
    Drive: DVD-ROM drive

Increased performance will be noticed on more powerful systems.

also theres a patch out there that lets you play this on XP. it will run better since xp isnt as much of a system hog. (google halo2 xp patch and youll see it)

Yeah, don't upgrade to Vista. It's crap right now. Just get the Halo 2 XP Patch.

ok, thats cool, but I don't think that my graphics card is good enough. It is a geforce fx for my laptop. I'm not sure of anything else. How can I check my computer to see the specs of my graphics card? Anyways, I'm fairly certain that it can't play halo 2. Can anyone recommend a graphics card for a laptop (nvidia) that can play halo? thanks again

Go to Start-->Run-->"dxdiag". (You can hit Yes or No on the dialog box that pops up, it doesn't really do anything)

It's a little bit dated, but it should give you a good guide to what you want to look for depending on how much you want to spend and other stuff... I would suggest a lot of google type legwork before you buy it so there are not surprises...
