After downloading some music last night I wake up this morning to find my system settings reset; i.e. nickname, wallpaper, etc. What's weird was that a new nickname had been entered. Any of you guys know why this may have happened? I haven't ruled out fiance tampering but she wouldn't have reset just those settings. Just trying to see if this might be common. I got this PSP less than a month ago so it shouldn't be skitzin' out already.

1st post too. what up. thanks in advance.

ok, my finace definitley admitted to messing with it. But she said she just hit some buttons and then turned it off cause she didn't know what she was doing. I'm not even gonna comment right now. Although I'm still sketched about why everything reset, seems too specific for someone who's "just hitting buttons." Oh well, I'll see if it happens again.

After some searching here's what happened and a workaround for those of you with the same problem(I'd love to give cred to the site I found this but I forgot already.....too early in the morning)-

My PSP loses it's settings since updating to Firmware 2.X...
So, you turn on your 2.00 or higher PSP and you're presented with a blue screen that has "Setting Information is corrupted..." in bunch of different language. How'd this happen you ask yourself...well, here's what we've concluded.

    The Problem:
This actually started with 2.00, but not that many people started surfing until 2.60 came out and we all started looking for RSS Feeds. This appears to be a bug in the JavaScript processing engine. I've been able to reproduce on many occasions. So, until Sony release a fix here's the work-around that will prevent it from happening to you.

    The Solution:
A fix from Sony...if they've produced the problem in their labs.

    The Workaround:
If you access a webpage and the page never finishes loading, meaning the "water drop" in the lower corner is, well, dropping. Do not put your PSP in sleep or turn it off, this will cause the blue screen of death. Instead, press the Circle button until you get the "Do you want to exit the Browser" prompt, and select "Yes". Once back to the Main PSP menu, you can now safely put the PSP into Sleep mode or turn it off.

Basically, if you don't sleep or turn off the PSP while the browser is "processing" something you'll never see that error.
