I turned off my computer, unplugged my computer, and moved it 90 degrees clockwise.

And now I plug this one back in, and the screen resolution won't go past:

    1280 x 960.

It looks really horrible compared to the other one.

When i set it to 1280 x 1024, it looks even worse.

    1360 x 768, worse then the others.

What I'm trying to say is, when I try to set it to 1600 x 1200, it says my monitor cant use it, and most I could use is 1440 x 900, and I don't have that option.

Please help, I'm about to cry it's so frustrating lawl. I can't figure this out, and I can't deal with how it is.

You moved the computer or monitor?

Either way moving anything shouldn't change your max resolution, go reinstall your drivers.

Uninstall your graphics driver (set your resolution to like 800x600) and install the newest ones from your cards site.

If it does not give you a video input, use your onboard card, and if that's all you have, I would just find out the problem first.

it could also be the connection from/to the monitor. after moving my computer I had the same problem, I couldn't get my screen's native resolution (1440x900). I tried reinstalling drivers, tools like powerstrip (i think that's what it's called) etc. In the end I even formatted and re-installed windows, which still didn't help.

The problem ended up being that the VGA cable was loose either to the monitor or the video card. I screwed both in nice and tight and I never had the problem again.

The problem also existed on my mother's computer and this fixed hers also (heh, I was blaming Vista)
