Ok I need a laptop for school because all the labs are usally full of people and theres no where to get on a computer to type of projects or really do anything! so what would you recommend? and state why. I also in the future need something that will run Autocad or Inventor. I was thinking going with a Mac sense it can run both windows and OS, but I dont know if thats a very good choice for what I need.

i was thinking about this computer:Apple® - MacBook® with 13.3" Display - MB467LL/A

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this but whatever.

Well I just figured out that Mac's can run AutoCad so im good with that, I also needed somthing for all around use and will last along time not like 1 year then it just turns like crap, and I know macs dont get as much viruses as PCs do so thats another + and what people say the more you pay for some the better off it most likely is. I was also hoping that Newegg sold apple computers but they dont....

Edit: wait they do but its only $9 US cheaper. Rofl

If you are going to be doing CAD work you will quickly find that a 13" screen is ridiculously small.

I would suggest this:
Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS6530-5195 NoteBook AMD Athlon X2 QL-60(1.90GHz) 16" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 160GB HDD DVD Super Multi ATI Radeon HD 3200 - Laptops / Notebooks
Its very well priced, has a good bit of power, and im pretty sure you can install osx on it if you please. The only thing i can think of that might not work with that lappy on osx is the sound card, but that might work, i just dont know.
Theres an intel version of that one with a slightly bigger hdd, but the video card is an intel instead of ATI, which means its probably not as good and i know for a fact that it wont work with osx.
My mom has an acer and it has had no problems in 2 years. The machine is built like a tank, i love it.
Very funny....not.

Well I read in the 2009 buyer guide that the MacBook pro was the best 15.4 inch laptop out there I think HP was the 1st on the 15.5 inch budget laptops so I have no clue

and if not a MacBook I was thinking HP - Pavilion HDX Laptop with Intel® Centrino® 2 Processor Technology - X16-1025nr or a Sony - VAIO Laptop with Intel® Centrino® 2 Processor Technology - White - VGN-FW270J/W but I see thats not expandable to 8gb.

If I had the money I'd totally go for the Mac book.

I hate apple and all but I can't deny how fucking sexy those laptops are now. I'd most likely dual-boot though, I still like windows a lot better.
