I'm trying to put a video onto my psp without using a downloaded convertor

i encoded my video as an MP4 and gave it the H.264 codec, and it SHOULD work because this is what the psp supports, even the downloaded demos are in this format
the video i made and the downloaded demo video are both playing at 29.97fps as well
but when i go into the psp it says the file is an unsupported format
    WTF??
i exported the video as a normal mp4 and the quality of it was soooooooo pixelated none of the stuff was recognisable, but under a particular setting it worked... it just was mega pixelated and soo lossy

why can't i get the H.264 encoded mp4 to work?
has anyone else tried doing this?

thanks to anyone who can offer a solution

i thought it might have been a resolution problem as well,
but i tried H.264 encoding and MP4 basic, and it only works sometimes with basic, and never with H.264

That could be an issue, i know PSP plays up to 480x272 but i don't know how it deals with odd resolutions. Like you say it should play H264 as that's what videos are on the PSP, H264/AAC in an MP4 or PMF container.

It might be that your encoder is using the correct codecs but at the wrong settings. Try test converting it with PSPVideo9 and see if the resulting video plays.

ah wait, i just found something.... i was looking through the render queue options instead of doing a straight export, and i found that i can encode it as H.264 but there was a comment that said i have to change the output to 320x240
    after trying this, it worked

i'm a little confused as to why the other videos i downloaded from the psp store worked without those dimensions
