First off I don't know much about 64 bit comps, I've never seen them in a store or anywhere to be exact. And i always heard that 64 bit comps have problems with 32 bit programs, And i just want to know three things.

    1. Is that true.

    2. Were do you go to get a 64 bit comp from cause I've never seen one a nd is wanting to buy one, and also if there are 64 bit laptops.

    3. And finnaly I stumbled upon this and wondered if there are comps or laptops that u can buy that have this: x86-64 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    1. Most 32bit programs have been updated to work with 64bit OS (read: Vista). My friend who has it only has trouble with his ps3 controller, but everything else is fine.

    2. 64bit computers are just computers w/ 64bit OS, like Windows Vista. There are x86 (32bit) and x64 (64 bit) versions of Vista, so if you're buying a prebuilt then just ask whoever you're buying it from. If you're building the system then just order the right discs. I can't see the point in buying an x86 Vista tbh, might as well upgrade your technology. You need 64bit to run 4gb or more of RAM anyway. Stay away from Windoze XP Pro x64.

    Buggy, especially for an XP.

I use xp64 and its solid, but that not the point. I run quite a few 32-bit programs on my xp x64 install with no problems, and most of these apps are games. I do wish game devs would start making 64bit binaries though. The only game i have played that had both 32 and 64 bit binaries is crysis.
Regardless, 64bit windows will run 32bit apps just fine.

Check the cpu specs of a laptop to see if its capable of running x64 windows. If you have less than 4gb ram its really not worth it anyway, so unless you plan on getting a completely pimped out laptop there is no point in a 64bit OS.
    Very funny....not.
