Anybody have thoughts on this? i am considering either purchasing a HP mini311 for taking with me when I travel. they are currently priced about $400 but I'm kinda on the fence about it. I'd love to hear others opinions on the subject.

I have a Asus Eee, paid about $270 for it. You can only do so much with these things. The cool factor is priceless but I wouldn't pay more than $300 bones.

I have the first acer aspire one and it works great, the great thing about the ion is that you can actually play games on it smoothly

Yeah that and with Ion it is capable of outputting video in 1080p. Has HDMI out which is very rare on a netbook.

I just bought an ION. (hp311) Don't expect to do some real gaming on it. THe atom CPU is the bottleneck. But with flash 10.1, youtube/hulu are now flawless. And hackintoshable!

I haven't used it personally, but I've hard good things about the Ion. Apparently, I think, it's like the love child of an Intel Atom and a mobile Nvidia chip, so it's powerful, yet doesn't hog battery power. If you're looking at netbooks, I'd go with one with an Ion.

Trust me, it works. I hate scams, too. The only thing is that it takes a while to get a lot of SwagBucks, and you need a lot to get the good stuff.

If you actually wanna play games, Asus is definitely a very affordable brand. They are almost like smaller(spec-wise) Alienwares, that are around 80% cheaper. If you are looking for portable gaming, no netbooks.
    i am an idiot.
