Sounds like your power box is dying...

My computer has been turning off at random times through-out the day. This started yesterday morning. Sometimes it would turn off after running for half an hour and more recently it will shut off while BIOS is still loading. I figure that this is not a software issue since it is happening before an OS even begins to load. I thought that it could be the processor overheating, but it only lasted about 15 seconds into the boot-up phase this morning after leaving the computer off all night. Once the PC shuts itself off, it cannot be turned on again by simply pushing the power button. It will only power up when I disconnect the mother board from the power supply and then reconnect it. This leads me to believe that it is the power supply, but I doubt myself because even though the PC will not boot up anymore, the network card is still receiving power because the light is blinking. After work tonight I am going to go find a new power supply at a PC shop, but only because that is the only solution that I can come up with. If anyone else here KNOWS what the problem is, then please let me know. Thanks!
