yeah my dell is on ebay at this time. its 5 yrs old but well cared for. asking $400 for it, and im more then happy to ship it to the UK. read the ad and if interested, pm me. im open to offers on it, so dont hesitate to make me one. right now its being used everyday to play music with Ubuntu installed, and i have to admit, it runs much better with Linux then with Windows due to the older hardware.

Thanks for the referal skud. yeah Julie i will definetly check that out on ebay and get back to you.

yeah Hack3r i was in the stage where i was stuck between buying a netbook and a laptop. in the end i stuck with trying to buy a laptop because portability is not really a big issue for me.

what made you but/want to buy a netbook?

portability and cost is what makes a netbook a good value, but with the small size comes the issue of cramped hands after while. i didnt have a problem, but id imagine someone with larger hands might find it uncomfortable to use. theyre great values, but they also come with their disadvantages.

im not trying to push you away from netbooks (or towards my pc), but if its not going to be portable, go for a full size notebook with a full size keyboard and larger screen. it wil be more comfortable for everyday use at roughly the same cost. videos and browsing will be better on a bigger screen as well.

its going to come down to what you can find in your price range. older hardware is still functional and more then usable for daily net activites, but newer hardware in a netbook package might be tempting as well, it you can get used to the smaller form factor of them.

Thanks Julie. I think a full sized notebook would be better for me than a netbook i have friends who have large hands and have trouble using them and my hands are quite large it might cause me a bit of discomfort.

so yeah i have read your ebay product page spec, etc and i think its just what i need.

would i be able to play runescape on it and WOW?.
