Oh, sorry. I jumped from iTunes to Winamp to Mediamonkey, mostly because Mediamonkey is made to manage large libraries of around 50,000 songs+ and because playback is instantaneous rather than having to wait like 3 or 4 seconds. But if you want tighter integration with web services and tons of addons, go with Songbird, which is built on Firefox.

Comodo firewall and Avira anti-v. Legitimately free, work very well, etc.

Well
If i have to use any free edition then i am preferring AVG 8.
But In register license version Nod32, Kaspersky and Bit defender are best.

Nod32 sucks huge ass. It appears to be able to take care of things, but in fact lets quite alotta crap seep through. So I still say free- Comodo/Avira, not-free- Comodo/Avira as Kaspersky eats WAY too much ram.

used to use AVG... didn't know it did NOT have Real-time protection
so, im trying out Avast Free on the laptop before putting it on my desktop.

I've been clean with AVG, but... if Avast is as good PLUS real-time... why not.

Also..... FIREWALLS?
Desktop is Zonealarm, but I read OUTPOST protects the rootkit too.
So, giving it a try. The interface and warnings are much different, but supposed to be the thang...

Anyone chime in about ZoneAlarm vs Outpost for Firewall?

Yup, Avira rocks!

Primary: Avria (It was top rated in 2008 and it is FREE!)
Secondary: Norton (I just turn the real-time protection off and remove it from start up. I only use it to scan, This process save pc resources.

systematic antivirus is the best in my opinion. it's constantly scanning your pc for vuruses, malware, and websites trying to get your ip info.

i use spyware doctor on my pc at home, installed it on my gf's/my work pc (when it got a major virus)/a co workers laptop at my 2nd job, his was totally screwed and found over 500 virus'/infections...it also has immunization/real time protection and constantly scans on its own every other or 2 days...

i also run my vista firewall that came with my pc...

been virus clean since installing that over a year ago...all pc's i've put it on.
