Default wifi around town help.....

where i live (Louisville, KY) there is a waterfront park (for those geographically handicapped, Louisville is right on the Ohio River) and there was "supposedly" wifi spots hooked up everywhere, but when i did a scan with my psp there for network connections, all i got was an incrypted code for a nearby ramada inn. am i seraching wrong, or am i miising the access point, or is it even my fault that i can not utilize this feature on my psp?

Default wifi around town help.....

Well I know the psp's wifi range isnt all the great...maybe your not close enough to detect...public "hot spots" usually dont require a WEP key. Try near public places where other people might enjoy wireless internet. As for the psp not functioning properly..I was at a hospital with a "hot spot" and tried playing ATV Off Road Fury but it wouldnt let me connect to games...maybe its the router????

Well, I never actaully tryed connecting to any of them. Since not everyone of them had WEP (security), it is probably possible to acess them. Anyway, it was the bus route from Lechmere to Government Center.

To set up a new connection using your PSP, go to Settings > Network Settings > Infrastructure mode > -New Connection-. Enter a new connection name, use the right D-pad key to scroll to the next menu. To find the wireless network go to Scan. A list of wireless networks will appear. Select one then go on to the next screen. In adress settings, select easy, at the next screen review your settings and go to the next screen in order to push X to save settings. Now test connection.

Try Borders book store if theres one near you. They have a public hot spot because a lot of college kids go there to study. I'm sure if you put in headphones though they would let you use it for your PSP.

yea there are TONS where im from, i live in bridgewater MA and there are a couple coffee shops, and of course bridgewater state college, i have 100% there within 200 feet of it in any direction, what i did is just found hotspots that im nearby on a regular basis, and you can save up to 10 so i have like 6 now and when you load the wipeout browser it asks you what connection you want to use and your all set
