Wep...wpa !??!

Hello guys i have another question when I have WEP security and wiriless works now perfectly but does....i tried to switch on WPA made a password and everything and somehow cant connect to my router obtainig IP has timed out thats what i get?!?! what the problem?!?!

you have to change the password on the psp wpa and wep uses different passwords when oyu set up the router it will tell oyu the passwords
