The attempt to obtain the IP address timed out
Okay, so first I thought I had a problem with my 3.80M33-5 firmware install that wasn't letting me get online with my PSP.
Then I go and make a PB and flash 3.71M33 to it, and try to connect with that.
It won't let me connect with that either.
I know it's not my firmware, because online actually worked with 3.80M33-4, and it stopped working randomly, and I just installed the 5 upgrade manually to try to fix it. That didn't work.
Now I've reset my modem and router a few times, and tried and again only to get to the screen where it says "Obtaining IP address" and then have it pop up with "A connection error has occurred. The attempt to obtain the IP address timed out."
If it's not my firmware, and if my PS3 and laptop can connect to the same connection, what the hell is wrong here?
Thanks for all your help guys.

My router's homepage doesn't show up.
That could be a problem.
But, my PSP's connection worked before, and even while I had 3.80M33. Just two days ago I noticed that it stopped working. I didn't even fool with my router or anything to make it not work, it just stopped working...

And at the DOS prompt type: "ipconfig /all" (sans quotes)
And you'll get your DNS setting right at the very bottom of the list. It'll say "DNS Servers............... XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX"

The attempt to obtain the IP address timed out
I had the same problem, it seems my router ran out of IP numbers since "Maximum Number of DHCP Users" was set to 4 .. apparently sometimes it reserves previously used IP numbers, or some connections are still hanging in the router.. anyway i cranked it up to a max 10 users, and it worked fine.
