port forwarding question.
Greetings,
I think your concept of it is a bit off. Port forwarding on a router is so you can set up things to go to a specific computer when they hit the router from "The Internet". I know what your trying to do, and i have done it on my PSP with the PSPVNC program, forget what its called. You need to setup port forwarding on your router to go to your main machine at home (the one you want to access files on), and setup UltraVNC on it, or i think RealVNC may work also. once you have done that you need to check the windows settings, 2 spots, 1 is windows firewall, the ports need to be allowed there also. and on the ethernet card itself which is located under advanced tab of windows firewall, and then settings on "Local area connection 1" or whatever its called. Same port should be used for all of these, usually 5900 but you can set that in the program. Now on your PSP as long as you have an internet connection (doesnt matter where from) you launch the PSP VNC program (Portable VNC?) and put your router IP in, which can be found under WAN on your router. and Presto, your in.
