User name and password required for web access

A few hotspots I use require you to connect to the hotspot, then open your web browser, then type in a supplied user name and password to get access to the internet.

As long as the browser stays open you can get to the internet all day long. However if you close your browser you no longer have access to the internet.

My psp connects and logs in just fine. But when I want to go play a game or do remote play you have to exit the browser which in turn closes the internet access.

When an app like a game or remote play try and connect, it comes up with the connection list, it connects to the access point, gets an ip, but does not have any internet access because you cant log in through the browser.

Is there a work around for this type of hotspot? Or someway to keep the psp browser and connection active when running other apps on the psp.

you dont have to be in the web browser. just connect thru the connection.

It will connect to the hotspot but you do not get internet access unless you use the user name and password in the browser to log on.

Lots of hotels have this kind of set up. Where anyone can connect to the hotspot but unless you have a user name and password you cant get past the first page the browser loads to log in. And once you colse the browser you also lose the access to the internet but are still connected to the hotspot.

For that kind of connection, I would think you would need to make a gateway from the host PC, and than perhaps it would work.

Dont think i will have access to host pc's at random places....
