Default psp portable vnc problem

Why would you need to use VNC?

Only reason to use VNC would be to control the computer you are attached to or browse local files.

Could do with knowing what you're trying to do with using VNC to know best way round it.

If all you're doing is controlling your home PC with your PSP then why not just sit on the PC ??

Am I missing something here? VNC = Virtual Network Computing. ie. remote control over another device.
So all you'd be doing with your PSP is moving the mouse and stuff on the home PC.

Could always be used to spy on the PC whilst someone else where on it?

He said he needs to do school work at home

Couldn't you just copy the files from your school PC to your PSP via USB, bring your PSP to your home PC and plug that bad boy in and transfer the files?

I don't think that you can access the computer at school remotely from your home.

Think about upgrading to a better computer?

Default psp portable vnc problem

Not getting the real problem yet.

You use your PSP at school to access a computer through tight VNC. Which would suggest you're accessing either files on the school computer or using their network and computer for a reason... could do with knowing what the access to the computer is for. Is it to access files, in which case a usb connection to the computer would work. Or, you're going through the school computer network to access the internet.

See why we're struggling with your problem.

Now the home bit. Taking it your using a wireless connection in all of this and you're saying your home computer is not working. If your home computer is not working then you're not going to be able to access it through VNC.

My thoughts are you may be trying to access the school computers through your home internet connection.

If this is the case then it's likely your IP setup you use when you're at school is different to that at home... eg gateways and all that stuff.

If I'm getting close then it's likely you'll need to use a different IP address when you're outside the school network.

er getting myself mixed up here.

Let's try and explain. When you're in school you'll probably be using a local IP number like 10.0.0.100 or something similar. When you're outside of the school network then you'll need to know what the IP number is externally.

I use VNC through my home computer to access files at work or view the screens of computers in the office.
The internal IP is 10.0.0.whatever. The external IP 84.45.225.whatever.

Unless you know the outside address AND that this is shared for outside access you're on a loser.

All the above might not be your problem so tell us a bit more about what you're trying to achieve.

I'm trying to access it to connect on the computer and access the internet. At my school we do lessons on an online service called "Plato". Due to the lack of a decent flash player in the PSP my lessons cannot be viewed. I looked it up before and I got the external IP for this network but I do not understand how it would connect to my computer if it also applies to about 10other computers. Good news is I may be getting a new computer this weekend. Though I would still want to know how to do this so I can access my computer through coffeeshops and such.

Don't think you can do that from your house to your school computer.

Why do you need to use VNC to access the school computer to access the internet.

If the site you're going to is available through the internet just use your home connection.

Are you using a wireless connection at home?

Is this what your having trouble accesing?

What is the web address you are trying to access. IF all the school computer do es is access a website then it should be possible to access this anywhere through an internet connection. Unless the school has account settings to access the website your looking for.?

I really just need a browser that doesn't suck. With the PSP Browser, it won't open the lessons. I originally didnt have a computer, therefore I needed a way to finish my lessons with the psp. I wanted to connect through the computer so i could use firefox, enabling me to do lessons. Oh, and the address is plato32.wayne.k12.in.us

I'm not going to need to do this since I am getting a new computer, but it would be nice to control my computer while I am at my dads or in florida. Any help is appreciated very much.

Forget it - there's no way your school computers are allowng VNC connections over the internet. Go ahead and ask their IT department. I bet they laugh.
