You have to restore default settings under System settings.

thatll do it???? WELL wtf is the point if it is that simple someone could steal my psp and do that, so if a 4 year old knew that and went pron surfing, or played gta!!

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Actually, this whole thread is quite coincidental because earlier today I couldn't remember my PSP password and looked online to see if there was some type of password recovery and it said just restore default settings. So I did and voila! The password was set back to "0000" and that allowed me to change it again.

It really does defeat the purpose of the password though but then again, it helped me out... Sony should've just made it so there was some type of security question for situations like this.

Wish that worked for me...I had to set the password to even get into reset default settings. XD

Doesn't matter anyway...installed CFW like...2 days later.
