Wireless indications on game cases misleading?
This is just a thought, but what is up with the listing of either Ad Hoc or Infrastructure on PSP game cases? I bought two new games recently, Rengoku and Ridge racer. Both say on the back of my game case "AdHoc/Infrastructure" but neither of the games allow for infrastructure modes of wireless gameplay, at least to my knowledge. Another thing that i found very strange was the labeling on two NFS: R games. When i was browsing in the store, i picked up the case of the NFS: R game, looked on the back for the wireless capabilities. It said ony "AdHoc." I continued my browsing to the used PSP games section, picked up the case to antoher NFS: R PSP game, and on the back it read "AdHoc/Infrastructure." Please help me clarify what is going on here becuase i am a very big online multiplayer fan and i base many of my purchasing decisions on the games type of online qualities. Please Help! What is our back-of-the-game-case-labeling-world come to!?
ps: i hope this is the right section for this question, i was torn between wether it goes in the "game" topic or "wireless" topic. |

Ad Hoc is what you will be using to play against other players who are around you (just set to same channel). Infrastructure allows you to go online and possibly play against other that way. Hope this answers you question. |

Actually, no,. I know exactly what adHoc and infrustructure modes are, but what i am saying is that some game cases say that the game supports both modes of wireless play, but in reality, the games only support adhoc, not inf. as indicated on the game case. |

Ok How about this; Sony wants them to be teasing... infrastructure play may not be possible right now but is in development. The PSP is still a very new product everything good is in development unfortunately. I don't hink the labeling is wrong at all, those games do have the ablity to use infrastructure. Here's a good question: would anyone give up homebrews and update the firmware if they released a way to play games infrastrucure mode? |

err twisted metal has infrastructure mode as does nfl street its readily available the companys that put both ad hoc and infrastructure but dont have infrastructure do it because most people who know what both modes are would like both because they may not have anyone physically near them to play so theyre being assholes with false advertising so you think you can play untold legends (in example) over the internet even if you have the only psp in your city... (which you cant even tho the box says infrastructure) but i know at least 5 games have infrastructure support now... and launch games did have it |
