Boost the PSP's WiFi
Hey!! Does anyone know what hardware I'd need for the PSP that would add some range onto it? My wifi hotspot @ my house is only a hundred feet and my room is about 150 feet away . Thanks! |

Finally! I think I found the only online account of wireless extension. I am big on wireless stuff. When I heard how the PSP had almost every attribute of a handheld for half the price, I wanted it. But anyway, there is a 5mb wire exetension that can fit into the PSP without drilling, I believe. This account used a 35mb jus for extension. But if you don't want to leave a hole in the backing of your PSP, then I suggest the 5mb cord. Anyways, the link: http://www.informit.com/articles/art...?p=383849&rl=1 |

yeah. that'd work, too. that would boost your own hotspot. it would also work in corelation with an antenna. But, if your'e like me, not only would you want to have your PSP extended in your house, but also most everywhere. the rangema is a really good idea

You could
A. Buy a stronger antenna/antenna booster
or
B. Buy a wireless access point |

Thinking about it, would it be possible just to have a wireless adaptor and use the strength off of that?
PSP --> USB Cord --> Wireless Adaptor ?
Just a thought |

Nope, because the usb connection requires the PSP to be in USB mode, it's shut off at other times.

Target.com is advertising something called a Wireless Booster for PSP and DS... here
It also says it won't be available for 4-8 weeks so i'm assuming this is a pre-order. Wonder if it will work but definately seems less extreme than hacking open your psp. |

you can make the antennae larger. Popular science made one out of a shoebox and tinfoil, im not sure on how that worked, but i head that it not only made the range longer, but it was much more powerfull throughout the house. you an also buy special things that make your antennae range longer in one direction you could just search google for wireless range extender.
