Default Will going online corrupt your PSP savefiles?

Well, I want online today on my PSP 2000(slim)(online as in internet browsing not Ad-Hoc) and after that, I decided to play Smackdown V. Raw 2009. I wanted to save, but it just kept saying:''File corrupted, cannot be saved.'' So I pressed the ''home'' button and went to ''saved data utility.'' In there, my Smackdown V. Raw 2009 savefile says ''corruptted file.'' I deleted it thinking that I'll just start over, then I wanted to play Dissidia:FF and when I went to choose this game, it kept flashing like it's also corruptted(The game). Then I reformated my memory stick.

P.S.: My cfw is 5.00 M33-4

I've use the internets many times on my PSP and have not encountered this problem. Do you know if your memory stick is fake?

It can also be corrupted by updating from an older firmware.

I'm not sure if its fake or not. It's a Sandisk 8GB memory stick that I got from China.....

Its a little red and when I compared it to a 8GB sandisk, it looks the same.

It's not from updating another firmware.

Ok. With your memory stick in the PSP:
In the XMB go to Video. Dont open it.
Press triangle.
Go down to "information"
If it says Magic Gate "Unknown" then your memory stick is fake.

Because fake memory sticks can still work ok. They might not even fail on you, but in this case it failed. If you dont want to risk it happening again, then dont buy your next one from the internets. I dont trust it lol. Try Fry's or a RasioShack.

or just buy a photofast adapter online (beware fakes though) got mine from ebay 1000+ power seller

It will still report as magic gate:Unknown But had no problems in the least even after downloading trailer's and demo's from the psn and using the games to go online

and buy micro's from say walmart, amazon, newegg a lot cheaper and can update at your convince (but walmart is not cheap when it comes to mem cards)
