ir between pc and psp?
i know im asking a PRETTY hard question (actually idk about tat) but still:
would it be possible using the infra red port on the 1000 psp and an infrared port on my desktop comp or my laptop to connect those devices wirelessly WITHOUT A USB CABLE? IT WOULD BE COOL TO HAVE HOMEBREWS PUT ON A PSP LOADING ONTO IT WHILE INA OTHER ROOM SO U DONT HAVE TO LOAD IT then walk out...sort of a lazy type situation, but still...and at the sametime be able to copy ur files from ur pc onto ur psp? |

You have to have the infrared ports pointed at each other and for the psp in close to transfer. Infrared is way too slow though. I mean wayyy. It's taken me minutes just to transfer one small picture before.
If you want to transfer wirelessly, get PSP Wifile Transfer and get an ftp server on your computer. I just got one that is built right into my Firefox. Then you just connect to the PSP on your computer, and send it to the PSP. It takes longer than a USB transfer, but not too much longer. |

oh all right, YET, it actually depends on the quality of the port u have on youyr comp....i bought one for like 175 or so, and the guy said that ittranfers files and folders at like 55 megs a second.. i forget the brand and am tooo lazy to open my comp.... but why do u say that they have to be pointed at eachother??? i have a 3000 and 1000, and there crappy infra red ports can send an image in like a second, AND they were about 45-50 feet away, WITHOUT being pointed at eachother |

You should read up on IR Tech aswell, they DO have to be pointing at each other.
Also even if you do have a fancy fast IR port on your PC, i guaratee the one on the PSP ain't nearly as fast, so that's negated right there. |

look at it like your TV remote. If you're TV is in the other room, the remote isn't going to be changing the channels on it. That's just the way IR works |

I think he may mean wifi... (ad-hoc) but even that's not even that fast seeing as my draft n router (which psp isn't a n device) its max is 100Mbs
B is 11Mbs/1.3MB's (which psp 1000/2000/3000 has)
g is 54Mbs/6.7MB's
N is 100Mbs/12.5MB's (depending on amount of antenna's in device) (hopefully pspgo has this)

im sry for my mistake on confusing ad hoc and ir.
but why is it that i have a g ir port and onother g ir port that r 75 feet away, on my desktop in my basement, and my laptop, using ics, and me talking on this post with me being the ics client? explain THAT killer. and dont h8 killer. just tell me the mixup ive had. no need to tell me all this crap and making me learn MORE! im out of school, and im young....to young to know about all this crap. but maybe when it came to the ir transfer wit my psps, i may have confused the adhoc and ir. sry 4 that....please close this post or sumthing....ill figure it out on a better forum |

Please spell, type, and punctuate properly. This isn't texting, alright? Even when I IM on my PSP, I type properly.
Just because you're young, that isn't an excuse. Kids have graduated from college at 11 years old. Try to learn things before you try to correct and "h8" on people.
But go ahead, try and go to a "better" forum. You won't find one this diverse with different types of knowledge and people.
AmiRite?
Almost forgot, G is a type of Wifi signal. There is no such thing as a g ir. There is one type of infrared transfer. Period.
Go play with your gameboy. |
