Default Can't connect to anything!!!

Well the problem is that my psp slim won't connect to anything. I tried connecting to my wireless internet, but once i found the SSID "Internet provider", on the security column, it says "not supported". Also, i tried playing with my friends at school and found that i could not versus my friends =[.

My custom firmware is 3.71 M33-2.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Default Can't connect to anything!!!

for my home router my problem ended up being a security issue

And sorry to say ssid isnt internet provider ssid = routers Name it brodcast's

But 95% chance it's the encoding
And another 4.9% your router is new and set on the highest setting
Was problem with mine my came set on default 802.11n Only (Dlink Dir-615)
second an ill give my settings

Enable Wireless : Enabled
Wireless Network Name : (Also called the SSID)
802.11 Mode : Mixed 802.11n,Mixed 802.11g and Mixed 802.11b
Enable Auto Channel Scan : Enabled
Wireless Channel : 2.4Ghz ch6
Channel Width : 20mhz
Visibility Status: Visible
Security Mode : None

Pretty much default setting's If you have to have security enabled (being paranoid) switch to wpa

Hope this helps

Firmware Installed: PSP1001-5.0M33-6

Default Can't connect to anything!!!

Only other thing i can sugest is update to 5.00m33-6

Sorry have no other suggestions

Fairly Easy download official 5.00 update and rename the eboot to 500.pbp and place on the root of the mem stick
and copy this download to Psp/game/update and run it (after extracting obviously) or use hellcat but still have to do last step to go from -4 to -6

Default Can't connect to anything!!!

yeah if you already have cfw installed

Read file details on the download

Quote:
File Description
from Dark_AleX:

Here, the quick fix.

5.00 M33-6
----------

This update is a try to fix memory stick low speed since 3.80.

Instructions: Copy UPDATE folder /PSP/GAME/ and run.

If you come from a version prior to 5.00 M33, put sony update as 500.PBP in same folder, or let the program download it for you using a wifi connection.

Changes in 5.00 M33-5:

- A setting has been added to recovery, that, when enabled it may increase memory stick reading speed. (only on the psp, not in the pc).
By default it is disabled. If you installed 3.71 fatmsmod, do not use this setting, as its perfomance with 3.71 driver has not been tested.
Instead, reinstall 5.00 m33-4 using dc8 and update to 5.00 m33-5

Changes in 5.00 M33-6:

- Fixed a bug that made unbootable psp without memory stick or with a bad one.

The included file fat_comparison.html contains a comparison of perfomance between the 5.00 fat driver, the 3.71 one, and the 5.00 one with the speed up hack during the read of an iso.
The test was done on the game Valkyrie Profile in cso format in march33 mode. Other games, modes and applications different than iso reading showed similar results.
