That should be absolutely no probem, as the game that is running is exactly the same. Is your internet connection ok and working?

Have the Person with the UMD play first and start the room then the one with the Backup just simply joins ( the reason you do this is because backups load faster then umds). Make sure you'll are close enough and check to see if you'll are on the same channel in Ad-hoc Settings in the psp menu or simply choose you channel as automatic.

No, you do not need to be on the same firmware to play games. Are you on the same channels for ad-hoc Play?

It loads game sharing and then the psp that shares just turns off, any takers on this one. and we both have the game on memory stick instead of umd as it is faster loading.

Having the same problem of cannot connect ad hoc with 1 Go (on 6.10) & 2 PSP (with 5.50). Could it be the firmware not matching that we cannot connect in Gran Turismo.

cfw users turn off all plugins inc cwcheat, be on the same channel IE 1 and all should be fine now run umd on psp and the other 2 goto game share and find the name of the psp with game/umd running multiplayer. Hope you find this helps.
