Psp wireless not connecting
The last time I was able to connect with my psp was over a year ago and I was using firmware 4.05 but it stopped working so I haven't used my psp since then but I've updated to 5.00 M33-6 recently and when I try to get online with my psp it still doesn't work.
I put everything correctly (my router doesn't have a wep key or anything like that so I know that can't be the problem) and when I put test connection I scroll down and it says failed every time I don't know what the problem is I've tried restoring the psp to default settings that didn't work.It says 100% when I try to connect and it even goes through obtaining ip address but I just can't get online. |

Its probably your type of router....I don't know a lot about this, but I know some routers don't work with PSP's.
EDIT: Alright, so only type B or G routers work with PSP's (technically, PSP's only work with B routers but G routers can be set to B/G mode, so they both work)....If you have, say, a type N router, that would be why its not working.

Based on what you're saying this is sort of a shot in the dark but it has worked for me in the past. But do what tomaversa said and check what type of signal your router is broadcasting first.
If you're router is broadcasting a B signal and it all looks good, then try this. Enter the recovery menu by holding the R trigger while starting your PSP. Go to Advanced -> Format flash1 and reset settings.

The router is broadcasting both b and g and as I said before it used to work but stopped so I was guessing it did have something to do with the psp.
I'll try what you said slowman.
edit
I did that it still says failed when I test connection.

It's quite possible that your wifi board has simply died. This isn't uncommon either, especially with older PSPs.
