i have been trying to get my psp online so i can possibly use the web browser or play games, it picks up the connection as im sure im putting in the WEP key correctly too but it does not connect to it, only says that it has timed out after 3 secs of "trying to connect to it". im using my friends connection n before i put the CFW on my psp it connected fine to it so i dont think its the router since im the one who manages his. currently i have cfw 5.50 GEN-B on my psp n just wondering maybe i need to do something certain with it or it just isnt supposed to connect?

it could be a number of things, but are you sure that your router is broadcasting in 802.11b?

the psp's wifi hardware can only use an 802.11b connection

Can't also it use a wireless G connection.....


EDIT: Nvm, thats only if the router's set to B/G mode....

if the router is set to accept only G then the psp won't connect as it cant connect to that standard. check the router and make shure it's in B/G or mixed mode

well i did state that my psp has connected to this connection before i went n put the CFW on it. hell my friend's is connected right now but he has OFW

that seems like a firmware problem, I did read that one of the GEN firmwares had a wifi bug, try using 5.00m33

Gen-c had a bad WiFi bug B B2 and D2 are all good

Please do not triple post. Use the "Edit" button....

GEN D2 is good, it doesn't have any bugs that I've noticed, it has fixed the wifi problem, and you can play games on it without decrypting them. On 5.00M33-6 I tried to decrypt some newer games and play it on there and it wouldn't work so I just gave in and went to GEN D2...
